Create an annotation project

Create a project, add resources, and begin an annotation task.

View as Markdown

From Projects, select New project. Enter a unique name and choose the semantic labels for the work. Every project supports both detection and segmentation branches.

Add initial collaborators if required. You can manage membership later if you have the project role needed to do so.

Open the project resource browser and add existing BisQue resources. You can also select the project or one of its datasets as a destination while uploading new data.

Use project cards and tags to make important subsets easy to find. Cards are saved project views; they do not copy resources.

Open an image from the project and choose an annotation set or branch. Use the annotation toolbar to draw a rectangle for detection or a polygon for segmentation, assign a label, and save. The first annotation determines the branch type across all images. A typed branch accepts only its geometry, even after all its annotations are deleted.

The image viewer can combine slice and channel controls with graphical-object overlays. Check that you are on the intended plane and branch before creating or editing an annotation.

Use a separate annotation branch when work should be isolated for review or experimentation. Forking existing history inherits its annotation type; start an empty branch to use the other type. Detection and segmentation branches cannot be merged or compared.
